Official Announcement

Elizabeth Mutinda Appointed as Executive Director

Leading Black CAP into its next chapter with confidence, stability, and renewed purpose

The Transitional Board of Directors of the Black Coalition for AIDS Prevention (Black CAP) is proud to announce the appointment of Elizabeth Mutinda as Executive Director, following her outstanding service in the Interim role.

This decision, endorsed by our members at the June 2025 Members’ Meeting, reflects the remarkable progress achieved under Elizabeth’s leadership as Interim Executive Director. Over the past year, Elizabeth has worked alongside the Transitional Board to stabilize Black CAP during a critical period of renewal and stabilization.

Transformational Leadership

Together, we have rebuilt trust with staff, clients, community and funders; implemented deficit management strategies; resolved longstanding challenges; and strengthened both labour and governance relations.

In affirming Elizabeth’s appointment, the Board recognizes her proven ability to lead operations with integrity, vision and accountability. With her leadership, Black CAP is well-positioned to move forward in strength—deepening its impact and continuing to serve African, Caribbean, and Black communities with excellence and care.

We extend our sincere gratitude to all staff, volunteers, partners, and funders for their steadfast support during this transitional period. With Elizabeth as Executive Director, Black CAP enters its next chapter with confidence, stability, and renewed purpose.

Please join us in congratulating Elizabeth Mutinda on her appointment as Executive Director of Black CAP.
